We Reap What We Sow
Apr 17, 2021The other day I was standing outside and the open field in front of me caught my attention. It was at that moment that I realized something so simple that it had eluded me most of my life.
The land gives the farmer a choice. Whatever is planted in the soil will begin to grow and permeate the farmland. If the farmer chooses something beneficial like corn, wheat, barley, etc. it will grow. Likewise, if the farmer chose to plant nightshade, a deadly poison, it too will begin to take root and cover the same area quickly.
Our mind is a lot like the farmland. The mind, like the farmland, doesn’t care what you plant. It will return whatever we sow.
Now, I ask myself every day, AM I:
- Wasting my time on worthless things like too much television, social media, games, etc.
- Spending quality time with quality people doing quality things?
- Worrying about things that don’t matter and (as a dear friend used to say) Majoring in the minors?
I am always working to develop my mind to consistently think:
I GOT THIS!
I OWN THIS!
THIS IS MY LIFE!
I’m going to be the best me I can be so I can be there for others who need me.
Remember, It’s your life, your way, every day.
Begin here, begin now.
